Dante Aligheri’s The Divine Comedy, a 14th century epic poem, has been targeted by Electronic Arts (EA) for its next video game adaptation. Visceral Games studio is spearheading on the creation of the game.

The game is based on the first third of the poem which is commonly referred to as Dante’s Inferno wherein the game was consequently named after. Dante’s Inferno dwells on the journey through the nine circles of hell, as illustrated on the poem. EA’s Dante’s Inferno is a third person action adventure and the game trailer has finally been broadcasted for the public. Watch the video below for a more narrative impression. Dante’s Inferno has also been promoted through a variety of mediums like books, animated features and comic books. A demo is currently available on Playstation Network but PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 gamers can expect Dante’s Inferno on February 9.
