Gesture Cube Offers 3D Interface Technology

Ident Technology has revealed a new device that integrates electric field sensing technology. If Apple was able to integrate multi-touch in a different surface, Ident’s GestIC Technology was able to integrate gesture-based interface system on a Cube. It facilitates touch-free gesture control which is far removed from the usual touch technology on even the most diverse gadget from Microsoft.

Gesture Cube

The Gesture Cube has five functional screens for accessing your favourite apps and media. It is also capable of connecting to the internet and has Bluetooth for transmitting media files from a smartphone. The technology is indeed remarkable and let’s keep our fingers crossed that it won’t have same issues as the Canon multi-touch patent. Watch the video below for a thorough understanding of its function. Details on pricing and release dates were not mentioned but it is expected to be on display at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010 which will be held at Barcelona on February 15-18, 2010. Technochasers, will their touch-free gesture control be a significant technology for devices in the pipeline?
