The market can expect an optimistic transformation in the Office applications which comprises of the following:

  • Excel, Powerpoint, Word and OneNote advances with its browser based version. A valiant step in competing with Google’s online docs.
  • Web 2.0 will be integrated and the office will arrive with both a 32 bit and 64 bit versions which is a definite lead way for the office.
  • A “paste preview” was designed for the programs where in paste options will be presented for editing a document.
  • A ribbon interface was created for command or program shifting.
  • Add on features for each application includes:
  1. Sparklines for Excel: enables the positioning of a small graph in one cell.
  2. Video embed for powerpoint presentations which includes the audio capacity.
  • The Outlook email comes with an “ignore thread” that will serve as an option for the users to take no notice of a string of messages. Another would be “MailTips” which provide alerts that dwells on etiquette or security matters.

For sparklines that work with older Excel version (Excel 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007) have a look on MicroCharts

  11. doi says:

i haven’t even upgraded to Office 2007 and yet they are now soon releasing a 2010 version? LOL..

  12. Andrew says:

@doi: they are trying to release a new version every three years now from what I understand, sort of an exercise in false economics if you ask me; a release every 4 years would make more sense. There are still people using Office 97 out there…

  13. wow, that sound good news….

  14. doi says:

@andrew: yup, i know. I never realized that it looked sooner than I expected. They also release new versions of OS every 5 years (if my memory serves me right). I used to work for their support team. LOL
