Microsoft Unveils Project Natal

June 1, 2009, Los Angeles – Another gaming evolution was revealed by Microsoft at its E3 Press conference, named as “Project Natal” a motion-sensing control system for Xbox 360 console. This innovation eliminates game controllers and will basically utilize the body parts to control the game. It operates using a monochrome camera – which works with infrared- a microphone, and along with other loads of software that will enable you to move in a full 3d space, use voice commands and enjoy connecting and sharing it with your friends.

Another brain food for you, readers: They got the name of the project from one of the cities in Brazil –Natal – where one of the key engineers was born. Microsoft actually tends to name its projects after cities. “Natal” also means “to be born” in Latin, and by its name, unveils a greater horizon for innovation given that this is definitely a leapfrog in the gaming industry.
